XP Leopards

When it comes to using Windows XP, leopards need to change their spots

XP has been king of the operating system jungle since 2001.

However, on 8th April, Microsoft will cease providing support and updates to this operating system. Microsoft camouflages itself, working hard in the background, to provide automatic updates which you don’t necessarily notice happening but which keep your computer safe, and without them, computers will be more vulnerable to attack. This could lead to devastating consequences for businesses.

Computers should be upgraded to a later operating system such as Windows 7 or 8.1 to keep them safe from snakes in the grass such as viruses, malware and online attacks.

Cybercrime is happening on a shockingly large scale: according to Norton, 14 people a second become victims. Computers still running XP will become an easy target for identity theft, hacking, viruses and financial theft. Businesses will be putting the computers and documents on their networks at risk, as well as potentially compromising their customers.

As new software comes out on the market, it may not be compatible with the old operating system. Therefore, businesses could be using outdated software without knowing there are improved versions available which could enhance the day-to-day operation of the company.

You may have heard on the grapevine that Peach will soon be changing. We’ll be offering IT solutions to businesses, which include hardware, antivirus and security, backup, hosted email, cloud services and disaster recovery, as well as support and maintenance. Plus, we can migrate your data across to new hardware so you won’t lose any of your work.

Come 8th April, Windows XP will be king of the jungle no more and those leopards who are creatures of habit will need to change their spots and upgrade.
